A traditional village based on cohousing and intentional community is now forming in Rockingham, Vermont.

Property Tour January 6, 2007

A Caer Coburn property tour, pot luck lunch, and meeting is this Sat. Jan. 6, 2007, starting and ending at Stuart and Veda's house.

People that want to visit the property can meet at our house at 10:30 AM. Potluck lunch will happen when they return and the meeting will commence after lunch is over.

We will try to keep the meeting as short as possible to enable those traveling the possibility of getting home at a decent hour.

  • 10:30 AM: Meet at our house to take a walking tour of the property with Veda
  • 1:00 PM: Pot Luck Lunch
  • After Lunch: Caer Coburn Meeting with the possibility of a presentation of the latest design and completed feasibility study (I am waiting for confirmation as to whether or not she can attend) by our Engineering Project Manager, Kathy Williams, who is going to come with an update about the progress and latest design, so she is definitely on the agenda. I do think her presentation might take awhile, so we might not get to everything on the agenda.

Additional suggestions for the Agenda:

  • Financial Report
  • Design Committee
  • Home Owners Association rules (report on current Riverbend and starting to set up our own HOA)
  • Next Meeting
  • Holding a Chamber of Commerce Mixer on the property late Spring/Early Summer (after black fly season!)

If you are planning to come, and need directions, click to send us an e-mail.

Happy New year!

Safe journeys!

Potluck Cookout October 14, 2006

The leaves are changing color which means it is Fall Foliage Season in Vermont. The leaves are a riotous collection of orange, gold, red, and many shades in between.

People drive from all over to see the trees turn color in Vermont and you can see them closeup at the Caer Coburn Potluck Cookout on Oct. 14, 2006 afternoon and evening. See the property and meet current and prospective members over dinner and around the campfire. Bring yourself, some food to cook and share, something to drink, something to sit on, and an instrument if you would like to play around the campfire after dinner. The cookout will be held on the Caer Coburn property or our house in case of bad weather. Camping is allowed.

Kathy Williams, the engineer working on the project, will be there around 4 PM to talk to us about possibilities and hopefully some design ideas for layouts for our homes.

Here is the schedule:

2:30PM Guided tour of the property

Campout July 28- July 30, 2006.

We had a campout on the Caer Coburn property for all of our members and anyone interested in joining Caer Coburn. This gave everyone a chance to get to know each other and to wander the land.

We had a great time visiting, sitting around the campfire, singing songs, telling stories, going swimming, and there was great food to eat.
